Architecture is an inventive process that creates value and meaningful order in terms of space and function.
FAQ
Can ICAZAR handle my project from the draft design stage all the way to construction supervision?
Yes, of course. Our experience has been: You will certainly benefit from a one-stop solution for different project phases as most problems tend to arise at interfaces. For instance at the interface between artists and engineers, when transitioning from the aesthetic vision of the architect, on the one hand, to the compilation of actual tender documents, on the other hand.
We know the market, are well networked with all the right contacts, and have project management experience. Being called in at an early stage gives us the chance to think ahead along the entire value chain . This ensures that all partial services in the building process run smoothly, subject to precise timing, reliable cost control and exceptional design quality.
Which professions does your team cover?
Architects, Civil Engineers, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Designers, Construction-cost Accountants, Interior Designers – you name it, we got it! For tasks not covered in-house, we collaborate with well-known, prestigious partners worldwide.
Does ICAZAR specialise in certain types of construction or types of use?
Our ambition is to create things of lasting value. So, we spend a lot of time and energy familiarising ourselves with our clients and their needs. We see ourselves as advisers and partners at all stages of a building project. After carefully reviewing the background of our clients, we take their needs and requirements, the local context and our long-term experience into account to create something exceptional. Something that fits both the place and the client.
Can ICAZAR also provide a modern technical fit-out?
Yes, of course. We principally include networking, smart home and home office aspects in our planning efforts. A well-considered technical fit-out is the basis for both personal comfort and the sustainable value of a given property. Of the essence here is to integrate these things inconspicuously so as to leave the special character of the property intact.
Do you integrate sustainability aspects into your construction projects?
Of course, we do. Our architecture is rooted in the responsibility to deliver high quality. That in itself is ample reason to use durable goods and materials. When selecting partners, we follow the maxim "local, but world-class standard". This approach has resulted in long-term collaborations with local craftsmen who are masters in their fields. It is the only way to achieve a harmonious overall product.
We integrate sustainability aspects even into the construction process. The central theme is to keep construction responsible: regional sourcing, short-distance logistics, avoidance of noise nuisance and keeping the environmental impact to a minimum, promoting and preserving age-old trades, and supporting the local economy.
What does ICAZAR’s track record show?
At its core, our company originated in a small architectural office that was formed in Mallorca in 2005. We have grown steadily over the years —now counting 11 staff—and have managed and executed more than 100 projects over the past 16 years, from loft developments to up-market hotels, and from resorts like the hotel Portals Hills in Puerto Portals all the way to residential housing projects like Amber Village in Andratx.

Are you active on Mallorca only?
While based on Mallorca, we are active for our clients around the world.
We have handled projects in Frankfurt am Main, Paris, Madrid, on Sylt and on Sardinia, to name a few.
Do you plan and build exclusively for owner-occupiers?
No, we don’t. We also take care of commercial real estate investment projects.
We apply the same quality standards, and act with the same diligence, dedication and reliability we devote to our private clients. When involved in large-scale projects for property funds, for instance, we may handle either the entire service chain or isolated jobs, such as Architecture or Project Management.
